Then the matter of filling the forms and paying the fees and wait for ';planning'; to approve. Can i turn part of my house into a hair salon ?
you need to get a hold of your state board to find out for sure. But normally it will entail a private bathroom, all your supplies, a mop able floor, it will need to be totally separate from the house. Your city will have certain requirements that they will want too, like a licensed person to do all the work (plumbing etc.), and normally they will want you to go to all the neighbors and have them sign something that says that they agree to having a business in their neighborhood, that will have to do with the parking extra cars around etc. You will also have to pay fees to the city, and the state board of cosmetology since there is a business there. The up side you get to write all that off on your taxes and get to write off part of the house on your taxes too since it is now a business
While some of the issues regarding licenses, permits, and business names can be handled alone, some matters (including establishing your business and brand names) may require the help of a lawyer. So before you start, it's a good idea to line up a lawyer whose practice is focused on business. A good way to find a lawyer is to ask for recommendations from your accountant or business acquaintances. If you're not sure about needing help on an issue, ask your lawyer about it first. Your investment in legal fees now can help you avoid much bigger problems at a later date.

it will all depend on the state you live in. a business license, zoning for the land might dictate you cannot build a public business on it... also if you live in a neighborhood that has rules like you can't store your RV at your house then you may run into trouble there too. first thing I would do is call city hall... they will be able to send you in the right direction.
get legal advice first, before anything. Yes it an be done with the right paperwork, help and family.
sure
yeah but u would need a license of some sort
