NO you can't. You need a license.
In the past many clients got chemical burns and other damages from untrained people so now you really need formal training and a license. At the end they are just saving you from going to jail and/or having to deal with costly legal sues.Can you work in a salon with no formal training??
Probably not, most places require licensing and such, but I think the laws might vary from state to state.

It depends on the place you are working at. Most states requires something like Georgia hair designer training or CE credits for georgia to have a license but it is different in other locations.
